Tapping
I'm not a big fan of the guitar as it seems utterly impossible for me to master it properly. But I can appreciate it's music and wondrousness.
After watching the movie 'August Rush' which is a story of an orphan boy who uses music to find his parents and brings the family together, I got a bit inspired by the way of guitar playing. It's certainly very different and not many people can master it, though I've found a few videos on youtube to show it.
Impossible guitar guy
The guitar he uses here is a 12-string guitar by Warr guitars if I'm not wrong since I've only heard this company making 12-string guitars for two-handed Tapping.
Kaki King: Playing with pink noise
On the Letterman's show.
Her songs were featured in the August Rush movie.
Apparently someone mentioned about Alternative Tuning the guitar for such sounds. I'm not sure, maybe someone can help explain that to me. Some artistes who visualised Tapping is Preston Reed and Michael Hedges, if I researched correctly.
But here's the scenes that blew me away in August Rush.
The song is "Bari Improv" played by Kaki King obviously.
Dueling Guitars by Heitor Pereira and Doug Smith
Raise it up
The little girl is really singing by the way. Jamia Simone Nash.
August's Rhapsody by Mark Mancina
Something Inside by Jonathan Rhys Meyers
This is a fan-made video. Can't really find the proper movie scene.
Oh by the way, there are 4 songs in August Rush that are sung and performed by Jonathan Rhys Meyers himself. Just search for it on youtube.
Hint: I love their version of Moondance.
Told you he's good. =P
