Welcome
to my humble abode

Who am I?
Who am I? That the Lord of all the earth, Would care to know my name, Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I? That the bright and morning star, Would choose to light the way, For my ever wandering heart.
I am a flower quickly fading, Here today and gone tomorrow, A wave tossed in the ocean, A vapor in the wind. Still you hear me when I'm calling, Lord, you catch me when I'm falling, And you've told me who I am. I am yours. I am yours.

Came across this Draco/Hermione soundtrack thingy, and saw this fanmix.
Do you guys know anything about Emilie Autumn?

Man, her songs are scary. Some are really nice and sweet, like "Be Silent, Be Still" and "Faces like mine" where the piano is the only accompanying instrument. But songs like "I know where you sleep" sounds really demented.
She's supposedly a rape victim, so I understand where some of her songs are coming from. But it's really scary and the tunes are so diverse. From classical, to jazz standards and something for what she is known for, Violindustrial and Victoriandustrial. Where it's a mix of violin/classical, victorian and industrial music. Sounds classy gothic though...lots of electronics used.

I like how in one song she incorporated the harpsichord, heavy bass/drums beats, and the violins together in the instrumental song "Dominant". Also in another, which I can't remember the title, she had a famous classical piece mixed in with the industrial music/vocals. That was beautiful...

She's really good though, even if some of her lyrics irk me. LOL...

It's an acquired taste for her music.

I think Eddie will love it. LOL...sounds like the kind of music you'll produce.

Men think that women like guys who are dangerous. As a result, guys will often smoke cigarettes, drink too much, and ride a motorcycle without a helmet. The reality? Women don't like guys who are dangerous. Women want us to think that because women are trying to kill us.

I like to put my hair up in a ponytail
Climb up in a pickup and just raise some hell
Have a four-wheelin mud boggin real good time
Then go home and play poker all night long
I still love chick flicks a real good cry
But sometimes it's fun to be one of the guys

27 years old

It seems like for the baby boomers and the celebrities during the hippie culture had a strange tradition ritual.

The famous ones die at 27 years old.

Is it a cursed age?

Jim Morrison, lead singer of The Doors, died of heart attack when he was 27 years old. His long-time girlfriend, Pamela Courson, also died when she was 27 years old from a heroin overdose if I'm not wrong.
Here's a rather funny quote from the movie...
Unknown host: Name and Job?
Pamela: Pam Courson, Ornament.

Now...Jimi Hendrix, famous guitarist, also died at the age of 27 of barbiturate overdose. Inhaled his own vomit also.

Struck me funny, that is what.

-----

Leave

Why do you keep following me?
Turn around and go back now
I never want to see your face
So go away before I make you cry

Leave
I can't stand you dogging my tail
Stop pushing into my life
Just leave and get your own for once

Bluidy Heck!
Why are you still here?
Can't you understand simple English?
Leave me alone

No, leave me
Just leave me
Because everyone leaves
At one point or another...

Jim Morrison from The Doors

Watched a film based on the life of Jim Morrison, lead singer of legendary band The Doors.

The band is famous for its hypnotic tune and the vocals of Jim Morrison just lures a person into a trance. But guess what? It's not New Age music, but rock music. His looks doesn't hurt either...*winks*

The film was dramatised, obviously *roll eyes*, but stayed slightly true to the original life. Though it flared up the bad boy image of Jim Morrison, the real person had a softer sensitive and intelligent side to him that can be seen in some of his lyrics.

Show you guys something.

Guess which one is the fake Morrison from the movie and which one is the real Morrison? Should be quite obvious. BUT LOOK HOW ALIKE THEY ARE!!!

The actor for the film is Val Kilmer. And to my 'big' surprise, Val Kilmer looks almost like Heath Ledger, especially with Ledger's hair in 10 things I hate about you. Was laughing with Anna about it...Heath Ledger's pictures are below...

Similar yeah?

I'm quite sad at how a talented person like Morrison actually died so young from a heart attack. He was only 27 years old. A lot of people believes that he died from a drug overdose though, which would come as no surprise to anybody since he was perpetually on a HIGH and tripping whenever he's at a concert. Sort of...

Jim Morrison's Grave.

He's buried in the same cemetary as Oscar Wilder, believe it or not, in Paris. That cemetary in Paris has the most world famous people buried there...rather funny.

Morrison had an IQ of 146.
Intelligent, definitely.
But he followed Nietszche's philosophy too close, and that's the problem.

I'm so sad right now about Jim Morrison with all his talent dying at such a young age that I can't even start on my music assignment. Hah!

People's choices, Devil's twists.

Woodstock

I've never heard about Woodstock festival until I saw a documentary of it being played during my Media Studies lecture. Hippie era, what a sensation. In my efforts to research for my MUS1040 essay about protest music, I came across a website that held an article about how Woodstock came about. A very very long article, but it gives a new insight into the revolutionary festival about peace and music. Although I do not condone the drug, free 'love' acts that became quite primary in the festival, the music and the whole idealisitic notion of this pumps me up.

Came across a couple of quotes/paragraphs in the article that cracked me up. Reminder: None are in order. It's all random.

"Every time Richie Havens tried to quit playing, he had to keep on. The other acts hadn't arrived. Finally, after Havens had played for nearly three hours - improvising his last song "Freedom" - a large U.S. Army helicopter landed with musical reinforcements. An Army helicopter? "Yes," said Havens. "It was the only helicopter available. If it wasn't for the U.S. Army, Woodstock might not have happened." The U.S. Army saved the day for a crowd that was, for the most part, anti-war? "We were never anti-soldier," said Havens. "We were just against the war." "

"Bert Feldman, the town historian, was suddenly Woodstock's censor. His job was to keep frontal nudity from appearing on national television. He stood between the swimming hole and the television cameras, reminding folks to cover up. Afternoon temperatures were in the mid-80s. "They had to have one or two garments on, depending on sex," Feldman said. "Lemme tell you, after five minutes, it was work. You never saw a fight in there. You could argue, of course, that it was because everyone was stoned." "

"After Country Joe, Monck spotted John Sebastian, the former lead singer and guitarist for the Lovin' Spoonful. Sebastian, clad in wild tie-dye, was tripping on some unidentified substance. He hadn't even been invited to perform at the festival. He recalls he was "too whacked to say no." Sebastian's stage rap was nearly a parody of hippie conversation, mostly because of his psychedelic state. But the crowd roared with approval. "Just love everybody around ya' and clean up a little garbage on your way out," Sebastian told the crowd."

"The third area was for people with a malady peculiar to Woodstock. "They had burned their eyes staring at the sun," Mrs. Sanderson said. "If they were tripping, they'd lie down on their backs and just stare. There were five or six or seven at a time. That was something.""

"The motorcycle roared up to the El Monaco Hotel on Sunday afternoon. Behind the handlebars was a bearded hippie. On the back was a woman screaming that she was having a baby. Resort owner Elliott Tiber raced in. He said he was the only one on the lot who wasn't stoned, and he relied on his instincts to help deliver the baby. Then he watched as Army medica flew mother and child away in a helicopter. "She must have been stoned," Tiber said. " Either that, or Janis Joplin was quite a draw. The mother ‘had olive skin and big black eyes. Her English was kind of broken. A French accent, I think.'"

Ralph Corwin pulled out a pack of cigarettes, lit one and started trucking down Hurd Road. The 26-year-old biker from Winterton met up Sunday afternoon with a young couple. The girl wore an Army fatigue shirt and a pair of black jeans. The guy begged a smoke; Corwin flipped him three or four. The couple walked away. Corwin looked over his shoulder. The girl's black jeans were missing on the back side. "Only the strip down the center," Corwin said. "No undies, and her cheeks were hanging out." "

It was about 9am, time for Hendrix, the headliner. He had launched into the national anthem, a moment that would go down in the annals of rock'n'roll. "I remember trying to fall asleep during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner'," said Ciganer, Jerry Garcia's buddy. "I just wished he would stop." The party was over.

Ventures spent $100,000 to clean the decimated festival site. Goldstein dug a huge hole and bulldozed tons of shoes, bottles, papers, clothes, tents and plastic sheets into the ground. He set the pile afire. The vast, smoky smolder that burned for days brought Ventures a charge of illegal burning from Bethel officials.

Twice, the town put up a sign identifying Nicky's land as the site of the concert. Twice, the sign was stolen.

Let my heart peel off all its layers
What do you see, my Lord?
Strip apart every single rusted crust
What can you see, my God?

Stare deep down into the corners
Is it dark or is it light?
Feel every piece of me
Can you tell that I am breaking?

I cry out to you
I cry out to you
Are you listening?
I'm desperate
I'm desperate
Can you heal?

Tear away the hardened portions
Melt the ice that bounds me so
Please
Rid me of hidden corners
Break the chains of bondage

I love You
I love You
I know You're here with me, my Friend
I see You
I see You
Come take Your rightful place as King

Let me hold You
To grasp even a small piece of You
I'm satisfied

Holy, You're so holy
And I'm so unworthy
But You have changed it all
When You died in my place on the cross

Grace and mercy flows
Like rivers that saturate
Forgiveness is given
Should wonders ever cease?

I love You
I love You

Casting Crowns:

"What If His People Prayed"

What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captives free
And not let satan have one more

What if the church for heaven's sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took and stand upon God's promise
And stormed hell's rusty gates

What if His people prayed
And those who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

And what would happen if we prayed
For those raised up to lead the way
Then maybe kids in school could pray
And unborn children see light of day

What if the life that we pursue
Came from a hunger for the truth
What if the family turned to Jesus
Stopped asking Oprah what to do

What if His people prayed
And those who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face
And turn from their own way

If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray
If My people called by My name
If they'll humble themselves and pray

What if His people prayed

"Set Me Free"

It hasn't always been this way
I remember brighter days
Before the dark ones came
Stole my mind
Wrapped my soul in chains

Now I live among the dead
Fighting voices in my head
Hoping someone hears me crying in the night
And carries me away

Set me free of the chains holding me
Is anybody out there hearing me?
Set me free

Morning breaks another day
Finds me crying in the rain
All alone with my demons I am
Who is this man that comes my way?
The dark ones shriek
They scream His name
Is this the One they say will set the captives free?
Jesus, rescue me

As the God man passes by
He looks straight through my eyes
And darkness cannot hide

Do you want to be free?
Lift your chains
I hold the key
All power on Heav'n and Earth belong to me

You are free
You are free
You are free

A new Beginning

I've been waiting so long for this to happen, and finally it did.
I'm no longer going to sit back on my heels too afraid to obey God.

Be strong and courageous. Meditate on his Word day and night.
Throw away the bad, and replace it with His Spirit.
For it is not by my might, not by my power, but by His spirit.
Be His Church, not do it.
Put faith into action.
I'm claiming His promise. Now and forever, I am Yours.

My heart weeps...

Help me.
Thank you.
