Welcome
to my humble abode

Who am I?
Who am I? That the Lord of all the earth, Would care to know my name, Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I? That the bright and morning star, Would choose to light the way, For my ever wandering heart.
I am a flower quickly fading, Here today and gone tomorrow, A wave tossed in the ocean, A vapor in the wind. Still you hear me when I'm calling, Lord, you catch me when I'm falling, And you've told me who I am. I am yours. I am yours.

Australia

It's been 5 days since I've arrived in Melbourne, Australia.
Honestly, I don't know whether it's me being homesick or something else, but I'm slowly finding that Australia is not what it's cracked up to be. Maybe once I find friends that I can click with when classes start or in my hall/floor, then life will become easier.
Yeah, the Aussies are friendly, but sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable, out of my element. Too much living in the city I guess.
We had FUN DAY today, a sports orientation to get to know one another in various campuses. Saw the crazy things that the Aussies do, and one of it is party/clubbing, judging from how they enjoyed themselves at the DJ table. Didn't take pictures of it since my bag was in the cloakroom. I didn't want to lug my bag all over the field in any case.
The past few nights were cold, and tonight is no different, just that in the day it was hot like an oven. Glad that I bought an extra doona.

Just a couple of things I noticed while in Melbourne for such a short period:
Internet is really expensive here, but fast.
Food servings are HUGE!
In the city, there are X-clubs around (which Singapore law doesn't even allow).
Expensive shopping - 2 T-shirts for AUD60...eeek!
The Greeks are loud.
Jet lag ain't funny.
Small conversation is a skill I need to pick up.
I'm homesick...
My legs are already tired by all the walking done. Might need a bicycle soon. I have a feeling by the time I get home, my legs are strong as oak.
Mom and Dad always have a blast watching Australian comedies on TV, though after a while Mom will cringe at the jokes, proclaim it unsound and go to sleep while Dad carries on laughing away at the TV.
Toilets are like Singapore (no water hose).
Traffic system is almost similar to Singapore, except for hook turns that is.
Places I consider far are close to others, while areas I consider close are far to others.
The CBD is actually quite dirty. Lots of pigeon poo and fallen leaves.
I got ang pau even here!!! Thank you Hong MaMa ;P
9pm here is like 7pm back home. The sky is weird.
Oh, and I'm down with sore throat, and my ezcema is getting quite woozy.
Goodnight.

Pictures will be up later.
