Merdeka Outing
On this cool morning, around 45 people of different ages and courses woke up to conquer a track in Templer's Park, so that they can reach to the peak and enjoy the greatness of the natural waterfall. Fresh Clean Spring Water.
Early Morning:
Boarded the bus, this Lynette slept.
Alighted from the bus, this Lynette was sorted into a group consisting of William, Anna, Daniel and Charles.
Started the trekking...
Finished the first few levels, all with steps.
Late Morning:
Headed forward to further levels, this time there are no steps and everybody has to hold stable tree trunks to support themselves up the steep and slippery hills. Everywhere was muddy.
Moved on and on, needed a lot of help from people to pull this Lynette up the hill, since this was her first time going onto a jungle trek.
Suddenly, somebody screamed, "BEES! BEES! HEAD DOWN, HEAD DOWN!"
Conflicting shouts came in, "Don't run! Don't hit the wasps! They're wasps, not bees! Don't hit them, move SLOWLY!"
This Lynette got pushed forward and apparently a wasp was buzzing near her ear, she panicked and swiped the wasp away and got stung by it on her right lower arm. Later another wasp attacked her back - probably in defense of the other wasp she had already killed - and it throbbed.
After getting treated, together with some other people who got stung as well...one particular guy got stung 11 times!...they decided to carry on and no mishaps happened, until...
They reached the place a bit higher up where the nest was.
Those who have gotten stung before, are therefore labelled as the enemy by the surrounding wasps as the venom in their stings are sensed by them. So they went for another round of invasion and a group where Lynette was in got separated by the rest. The President screamed as wasps buzzed around his head and he got stung...again!
Miss poor Lynette, because of the fact she was labelled as the enemy by the wasps, got stung again, on her back at the left side. She cried. It was painful! Everybody started praying.
Now, she got it treated and her tears stopped flowing. Someone else had a leech up their leg and since this Lynette was curious, she stopped to observe and wowed at the leech sucking blood.
A few others came up to the group stranded up there to help them cross over back down, they decided not to continue on the course anymore. It was too dangerous.
Taking a detour that a certain Dr. Chua (who specializes in Biotechnology, or so, a certain bird whispered into this girl's ear) made, so to avoid the stinging wasps. Detour was filled with steep angles, mosquitoes and thorny stems and leaves. But most of all, it was filled with the laughter, singing and companionship of the fellow hikers.
Noon:
Everybody got down safely.
Got treated somemore, before settling down for lunch.
Afternoon:
Boarded the bus at Templer's Park, this Lynette slept again.
Alighted at Sunway University College.
That was the interesting day that this Lynette went through. Though her back and arm is still quite throbbing, but the experience and lessons learnt will be unique to her. She thanks all the people who have helped her, in applying the antiseptic, taking out the sting, bearing with her struggling hold, lifting and pulling her up and down the steep, slippery hills and giving her encouragement by your laughter.
This Lynette after this perfect day went to Summit with 3 good friends, had dinner, and watched a certain animation movie called "Monster House". Very interesting show. Go watch, this Lynette recommends.
Thank you God, for protecting me!
This Lynette is off to sleep after a tiring day.
